Lankayan Island
Located in the Sulu Sea about an hour and a half away from
the mainland Sandakan by speedboat. Pulau Lankayan promises
an interesting holiday destination with white sandy beaches.
The availability of jungle interior and interesting diving
is a combination sure to attract diver and non-diver alike.
Some of the marine animals observed around the 14 dive sites
include black tip sharks, jacks, and barracudas, bump head
parrotfish, lionfish, moray eels, turtles, nudibranches, gobies
and the ghost pipe fish.
Getting There
Guest will have to catch the morning flight from Kota Kinabalu
to Sandakan. Speedboat transfer is from the Sandakan Yacht
Club to Pulau Lankayan taking about an hour and a half.
Tanjung Aru Beach
At the western fringe of Kota Kinabalu is 'Tanjung Aru Beach',
which is lined with palm trees and casuarinas. Located here
are the Kinabalu Yacht Club and Prince Phillip Park. The Tanjung
Aru Hotel has the advantage of being sited in the vicinity
of a national park of islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park
in the South China Sea. Tanjung Aru itself is surrounded by
white beaches and blue waters. It is a perfect place for swimming,
wind-surfing and boating.
