Cruise Tasik

Sitting in the heart of Putrajaya is Putrajaya Lake. Visitors can take a leisurely cruise on the lake to see and marvel at the city's many stunning landmarks and views. Visitors can choose from two different modes of cruising Putrajaya Lake - by passenger cruise boat or a gondola - vessels designed in the style of traditional Malay perahu. A third option for the more active is to hire a kayak and paddle around the calm waters of this pretty artificial lake.

The air-conditioned cruise boat seats 76 persons comfortably and allows passengers spectacular views of Putrajaya with its wrap-around glass windows. The open-air perahus come in 4-seater and 6-seater capacity, each operated by a single boatman.

Taman Botani

Taman Botani (Botanical Gardens) offers a quiet place for contemplation and Introductionducedspection. The biggest botanical garden in Malaysia, it covers an area of over 92 hectares and contains more trees and plants than commonly seen in other tropical botanical gardens.

The park is divided into three sections - flowers, ornamental plants and preservation research - and houses some 700 species of local plants as well as those from the African and Asia-Pacific regions.

Taman Botani has been designed as a national sanctuary housing a collection of Malaysian plants as well as a centre for education and research. Tourists can visit the Visitors' Interpretative Centre (VIC), the Explorer's Trail, Palm Hill, floral gardens as well as a gift shop that offers green themed souvenirs.

Taman Warisan Pertanian

Taman Warisan Pertanian showcases the agricultural development of traditional Malaysian crops such as rubber, cocoa, palm oil, fruits, herbs and spices. The process of growing the plants from seeds to maintaining and processing them into finished edible or non-edible products is exhibited here.

Among the many attractions and facilities provided in the park are the Visitors' Complex, an Orchard, a Herbs and Spices Track, Rubber Tree Plot and Viewing Deck.

Visitors can observe agriculture-related activities such as latex collection from rubber trees and its coagulation before being rolled into rubber sheets. Visitors are also able to see, touch, smell and learn about more than 170 crops in the park, sample some of the different types of fruits, fresh from the orchard, and experience many exciting events all year round.

The Taman Warisan Pertainan orchard opens from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm.

Taman Wetland

The largest man-made freshwater wetlands in the tropics, and the first of its kind in Malaysia, Taman Wetland comprises Wetland Park (138 hectares) along with several outlying wetland areas (197 hectares).

There are 24 wetland 'cells' in Taman Wetland and the main habitats are marshes, swamp forests and open water areas like ponds and lakes. Several species of local and exotic marshland birds spotted here include the Little Egret, Little Green Heron and Cinnamon Bittern.

Visitors can start by exploring the Wetland Park Visitors' Centre, which serves as the gateway to the wetlands area. It houses a Nature Interpretation Centre (NIC), an 80m-high look-out tower, which offers a bird's eye view of Putrajaya, two nature trails, a wetland plant nursery, a flamingo pond, picnic areas and other public amenities.

You can obtain information on the wetland plant bed filtration system, conservation of wetland habitats and the uses of wetland habitats and wetland products at the park.
