Getting to Perlis, Malaysia

The airport at Alor Setar in the neighboring state of Kedah receives flights from Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor Bahru. From the airport at Alor Setar, there are taxis to Kangar and Arau. The drive to Kangar takes about 45 minutes. A taxi to Arau is cheaper and takes less time. The fare costs about RM18 for adults and RM5 for children.

By Ferry

Ferryboats provide scheduled crossings between Kuala Perlis and Langkawi. The fare varies from RM12 to RM15 per adult. The journey takes an hour to reach Kuah Jetty.

For the Kuala Perlis-Langkawi service, the first ferry of the day leaves for Kush Jetty in Langkawi at 9.00 am, and the last ferry leaves at 2.15 pm. The last ferry back to Kuala Perlis leaves at 4.00 pm.

There are four ferry service operators, namely Kuala Perlis Langkawi Ferry Service Sdn Bhd, LADA Holdings Sdn Bhd, Samavest Sdn Bhd and Water Tour Development Sdn Bhd
