Negeri Sembilan Nature Activities

Negeri Sembilan's pristine jungles, hills and rivers provide ideal settings for outdoor activities such as jungle trekking, camping, four-wheel drive excursions and other exhilarating adventures. Its recreational forests and waterfalls are popular spots for quiet picnics and enjoyable family outings.

Lata Kijang Waterfalls

Lata Kijang, nestled within the Kenaboi Forest Reserve in Jelebu, is one of the highest single drop waterfalls in Malaysia. Situated deep in the jungle, it is accessible by four-wheel drive from the Jelebu main road.

The two-hour trip through rugged terrain, traversing Orang Asli or aboriginal settlements and passing a plethora of wild plants, rewards visitors with the breathtaking sight of this waterfall.

Within the forest reserve is Gunung Antu Besar, the highest peak in Negeri Sembilan at 1462m. Adventure seekers can set out to explore the stunning Jeram Berungut canyon.

The diverse species of birds as well as the rare Raja Brooke Birdwing butterfly are other delightful attractions here. For overnight trips, camping or homestays can be arranged.

Jelebu is located about 49 km from Seremban. For jungle excursions or four-wheel drive expeditions, prior arrangements must be made through tour agencies or the state forestry department.

Ulu Bendul Recreational Forest

Located just 16 km from Seremban on the main road to Kuala Pilah, this recreational forest is ideal for activities such as mountain climbing, jungle trekking, camping and picnicking. Set amidst the Gunung Angsi Forest Reserve, its verdant greenery and clear river make it a favourite weekend retreat.

Enjoy a refreshing dip in the stream or camp out to spend a night under the stars. This recreational forest is equipped with facilities such as wooden chalets, camping sites, a children's playground, parking bays and restrooms.

Ulu Bendul is the entry point to scale the 825m high Gunung Angsi, one of the most challenging terrains in the country.

Other recreational forests in the state can be found in the district of Jempol. The De Bana Recreational Forest is a popular spot for rappelling and abseiling while the Serting Ulu Recreational Forest offers a thrilling suspension bridge crossing over a man-made pool.
