Malaysia - More Adventures

Base Jumping, KL Tower
The Kuala Lumpur (KL) International Tower Jump is an internationally recognised B.A.S.E. parachuting event. B.A.S.E. is an acronym for Building, Antenna, Span (Bridge) and Earth (Cliff) - representing the four main platforms used for jumps.

The world's top jumpers participate in a six-hour jump marathon off the 421m-high KL Tower. Jumpers must allow a free fall of about three seconds to clear the tower-head section before deploying their chutes.

From a height of 300m, without a parachute, it would take only 10 - 12 seconds to reach the ground. A truly exhilarating sport!

Fireflies or Kelip-kelip, Kuala Selangor
Be enchanted by the dazzling fireflies. Just outside Kuala Selangor is the picturesque town of Kampung Kuantan - home to one of the largest firefly colonies in the world. Cruise upstream on a tongkang (a small rowboat) in pitch-black darkness.

Then, watch the riverbanks slowly come alive with the fairy-like lights of the countless thousands of fireflies

With a knowledgeable local boatman giving a colorful commentary, you can be assured of a memorable experience.

Pygmy Elephants, Sabah
Smaller and more mild-tempered compared with other Asian elephants, Pygmy Elephants were initially believed to be baby elephants. Found only in Sabah, catch a rare sight of these adorable creatures at the Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary.
